To deal with the massive influx of concert-goers on our doorstep, the Town of Hampstead is instituting extraordinary parking restrictions across the community. Specifically:
ON-STREET PARKING IS PROHIBITED ON ALL STREETS
ON JULY 8 AND JULY 9, except for parking permit holders
ON JULY 8 AND JULY 9, except for parking permit holders
As such, you and your houseguests are strongly encouraged to park in your driveways during this period, rather than on the street. Public Security will be increasing patrols and ticketing all vehicles parked on Hampstead streets without a valid permit. Violators will receive a $42 fine.
Should parking in your driveway be impossible, you may apply for a special 2-day parking permit for this period. This temporary permit is available free of charge at Town Hall (5656 Queen Mary Road) during regular business hours, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday. Please note that permit requests must be made in person. Proof of residency is required.
Please note that a permit is only required if you are UNABLE to park in your driveway or garage.
I already have an annual overnight parking permit. Do I need a temporary permit as well?
No. Since you already have an annual permit for overnight on-street parking, these restrictions will not affect you directly. It is NOT necessary for you to get an additional temporary permit for this period. We do ask, however, that you continue following on-street parking regulations as you typically would, as Public Security will be increasing patrols during this period.
