Sidewalk Reconstruction
As part of our ongoing effortto renew municipal infrastructure, the Town of Hampstead will be reconstructing sidewalks near your home this month. At some locations, work may already be underway, while others will begin in the coming days.
This work will involve the demolition of the existing concrete, as well as the excavation of small portions of the street and grass along the sides of the section being rebuilt. Please be assured that the Town will repair, at its cost, any damage caused to lawns, walkways and driveways on properties directly affected by this reconstruction work to our mutual satisfaction.
Should you be unable to access your driveway as a result of this work, please be advised that Public Security will be providing overnight parking tolerance near each work site so that you may park on the street without penalty. You are asked, however, to resume parking in your driveway as soon as possible. Additionally, if you must access your garage, for example, to remove a car that was inside while the old sidewalk section was being removed, please contact Public Works directly for assistance at 514 369-8280 between 7 a.m. and 4:15 p.m., Monday to Friday.
The specific work in front of your property should be completed within three weeks, barring unforeseen delays due to poor weather and other similar obstacles. The overall project, an investment of nearly $580,000 at more than 240 sites across Hampstead, will continue throughout June and July.
