The power outages are relentless, but so are we. The Town of Hampstead is in contact with Hydro-Québec, and we have been informed that the most recent outage was caused by equipment failure in the Hampstead Substation. This situation is being addressed as quickly as possible. Most of Côte Saint-Luc, Hampstead, and Notre-Dame-de-Grâce will be back online before the end of the day. For residents who are still directly affected by the freezing rain and who don’t have power, this is a local distribution issue which should be resolved by this evening. Due to the holiday, Hampstead’s Public Works is on standby for emergencies, and our Public Security continues to secure the area 24/7. We remain hopeful that we will be past the worst of it soon.
