Hampstead wishes to address concerns raised by residents regarding an unusual taste in the water due to the ongoing pipe lining project and the temporary water connection. We understand the importance of water quality and wish to assure you that the water remains safe for consumption. However, we recommend filtering your water with a treatment device certified to NSF/ANSI Standard 53 if your water has been sampled and your test results indicate a lead concentration higher than 0.005 mg/L.

The temporary water connection has been put in place to facilitate the necessary infrastructure changes that are currently underway. The contracted company is diligently working to complete the pipe lining project within the promised timeframe, and we anticipate discontinuing the use of plastic pipes in approximately three weeks.

We apologize for any inconvenience caused by the temporary water connection and the altered taste. Please be assured that we are closely monitoring the water quality to ensure it meets all safety standards set by the relevant authorities. We want to emphasize that there are no health risks associated with the temporary connection.

Should you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact Town Hall. Additional information can also be found on our website at: https://www.hampstead.qc.ca/en/roadwork-info/

We greatly appreciate your patience and understanding as we work towards enhancing the infrastructure in Hampstead.
