Enjoying Halloween safely

The Quebec government has announced that little monsters across Quebec will be able to celebrate Halloween on October 31, but in a different way than in previous years due to the current pandemic.

On the recommendation of Public Health, house-to-house candy collection activities will be authorized, provided that a few instructions are followed to reduce the risk of transmission of COVID-19.

Children - and their parents, for the youngest ones - will have to circulate only in the company of members of their household;

As far as possible, children should collect sweets and candies from a place 2 metres away from the occupants of the house visited;

Under no circumstances should children enter houses.

These three conditions are the main ones, but others will have to be followed during the collection. Please note that :

People who present symptoms of COVID-19 or who are in isolation should not participate;

the candy collection circuit should be limited to the neighbourhood surrounding the participants' homes;

people should always keep a distance of 2 metres from other people, wear a face cover and refrain from singing or shouting in front of the people they are visiting;

hand washing is recommended before leaving and when returning home.
