Important dates
You will be offered three opportunities to exercise your voting rights in person:
• Sunday, October 31, 2021: Advance polling day;
• Wednesday, November 3, 2021: Polling Day at the office of the Returning Officer;
• Sunday, November 7, 2021: Election Day.

Running as a candidate
The Municipal Council of the Town of Hampstead consists of a mayor and six (6) councillors.
Its territory is not divided into electoral districts. Thus, if you are running for a councillor position, you must indicate whether it is position no. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6.
To run as a candidate, you must be entitled to be registered on the Town of Hampstead's voters’ list and have resided on its territory continuously since at least September 1st 2020.
You can find the nomination paper by clicking here. It is strongly recommended that you consult the "Apply" guide by clicking here to complete it. An incomplete nomination paper will be rejected by the returning officer.

Nomination papers must be submitted in person to the office of the returning officer located at 5569 Queen Mary Road between September 17, and October 1, 2021.
The opening hours for submitting a nomination to the office of the returning officer are as follows:
• Monday  9 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.  &   1:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.
• Wednesday  9 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.  &   1:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.
• Friday   9 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.  &   1:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.
It should be noted that on Friday, October 1, 2021, the office of the returning officer will be open from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on a continuous basis. No applications received after this date will be accepted.
It is strongly recommended that you make an appointment with the Returning Officer to submit your nomination paper.

Voting by mail
Given the current COVID-19 pandemic, certain voters will be able to vote by mail in this election.
Eligible persons are those who are domiciled in Hampstead and who are in one of the following situations: 
• They are unable to move about for health reasons;
• They are a caregiver domiciled at the same address as a person unable to move about for health reasons;
• They must comply with a recommendation or isolation order from public health authorities between October 17, and October 27, 2021;
• They are 70 years of age or older on election day.
To vote by mail, you must make an oral or written request to the returning officer.

Board of revisors
If you are an eligible elector but you are not registered on the Town of Hampstead’s electoral list, you must submit an application for entry to the Board of revisors.
Town of Hampstead’s Board of revisors will be sitting at the Irving L. Adessky Community center located at 30, Lyncroft Road, according to the following schedule:
• Tuesday, October 19, 2021  from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.
• Wednesday, October 20, 2021 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. &
     2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

• Members of the revision committee
• Deputy returning officer
• Poll clerk
• PRIMO (Officer in Charge of Information and Order)
• Assistant PRIMO
• Member of the voter identification table
• Reception attendant
• Substitute
• Material Support Clerk
