Access to information, administrative transparency, and official records

The Town of Hampstead provides residents with access to a range of public documents to facilitate access to municipal information. This page brings together key documents, policies, by-laws, and notices, as well as the procedures governing their consultation.
All documents are made available in accordance with applicable legislation and recognized best practices in municipal governance.

Access to information

Any person may submit a request to access documents held by the Town, subject to the exceptions set out by law, particularly where personal information is involved.

The Town has 20 days to respond to an access request, which may be extended to 30 days in certain cases. Requests must relate to existing documents; requests requiring the creation of new records or analyses cannot be processed.

While access requests are free of charge, fees may apply for the reproduction or transmission of certain documents. The Access to Information Officer can provide further details.

Washrooms and Changing Rooms
PUBLIC CALL FOR TENDERS – HA-44-26

The Town of Hampstead is inviting qualified contractors to submit bids in response to Public Call for Tenders No. HA-44-26 for the upgrading of the washrooms and changing rooms at the Community Centre located at 30, Rue Lyncroft.

Summary of the Work:
The work includes, but is not limited to:

  • demolition of existing facilities;
  • supply and installation of new partitions, fixtures, and accessories;
  • plumbing and electrical work;
  • ceramic tile installation and finishing work;
  • all work required for the complete renovation of the facilities.

Commissioner for oaths

The Town of Hampstead offers oath commissioning services by appointment with an authorized commissioner.

Council meetings

Regular Council meetings are generally held on the first Monday of each month. Agendas and minutes are available online.

Meetings are also broadcast live on the Town’s official Facebook page, with no account required to view.

Bilingual status

Pursuant to section 29.1(1) of the Charter of the French Language, the Town of Hampstead has held recognized bilingual status from the Office québécois de la langue française since November 2, 2005.

Census data indicates that a majority of the Town’s population has English as their mother tongue.
