Free Branch Collection Service
Service available from May to October.
Thursday pick-up (every two weeks).
This collection is for branches no larger than 15 cm in diameter and not exceeding 3 m. long.
Branches must be bundled or tied together and be put out separately for pick-up at curbside every other Wednesday after 6 PM for Thursday pick-up.
Branches in plastic or paper yard waste bags will not be collected.
Residents must complete the following form in order to be added to the branch collection list.
Christmas tree collection takes place at the beginning of January and is conducted throughout a day. Residents are asked to place their trees at the curb (behind the sidewalk, on their property) the evening before.
Per By-law 705, the Town of Hampstead offers a special pick-up service for bulky items (such as fridges, furniture, electronic equipment, household appliances, etc.) subject to a fee (based on complexity and amount of garbage to be collected).
You may request a free estimate of your pick-up cost and further information by filling this form.
Once the estimate is made, you may accept or decline the service.
Discarded items must not be left at the curbside. Doing so will result in a violation notice from the Town.
Bulky items may also be dropped at your closest Écocentre located at 6925 Côte-des-Neiges, between Bedford & Jean-Talon.
Proof of residence is required (driving permit, tax account, Access Montreal card, and public utility invoice with an ID card). Be advised that the Centre is closed on Mondays but open on Saturdays. For its opening hours, please call 514-872-0384 or 3-1-1.
You may also call your local refuse collection company.
Bins located at Renaissance at the corner of Notre-Dame-de-Grâce Av. and Décarie or the Côte Saint-Luc Shopping Centre may be used to donate or recycle clothing.
All dry-cell type batteries such as alkaline, lithium or lithium-ion, rechargeable cell-phone, or any other electronic equipment batteries may be brought during regular office hours to the following locations in Hampstead:

The following products must not go in the regular garbage nor down the drain, but should instead be brought to your local Écocentre:
Hazardous Household Waste may be disposed of at Écocentres. The closest one to Hampstead is Écocentre Côte-des-Neiges, at 6925 Côte-des-Neiges, between Bedford and Jean-Talon. Proof of residence is required (driving permit, copy of a tax bill, Accès-Montréal card, or a utility bill with an identity card.) Alternative disposal of HHW:
Open year-round, these facilities spread throughout Montreal allow disposal of construction and renovation waste as well as landscaping residue. The closest Écocentres to our Town is in Côte-des-Neiges, at 6925 Côte-des-Neiges, between Bedford and Jean-Talon.
