Temporary Installation of Banners and Signs

Regulations governing temporary signage within the Town

The temporary installation of banners, signs, or promotional displays within the Town of Hampstead is regulated in order to protect public safety, preserve the urban landscape, and maintain the residential character of the municipality.
All installations must comply with applicable regulations and may require prior authorization.

The Town reserves the right to remove any non-compliant installation.

General conditions

Temporary signage must comply with criteria relating to size, location, duration, and safety.

Installations must not:

  • Compromise Road visibility or traffic safety
  • Obstruct municipal signage
  • Be attached to public infrastructure or trees without authorization
  • Encroach upon or damage the public domain

Duration and removal

Application procedure
