Fire Prevention

Reducing risks and protecting your home

Fire prevention relies on safe practices, proper maintenance of residential systems and ongoing awareness of potential ignition sources.
The Town of Hampstead encourages residents to adopt preventative measures to reduce fire risks and protect occupants, properties and neighbouring homes.
Most residential fires are preventable and are often caused by kitchen distractions, defective appliances or improper maintenance of electrical and heating systems.

Fire Prevention Week

Fire Prevention Week (Semaine de la prévention des incendies) is an initiative of the ministère de la Sécurité publique du Québec (MSP).

This annual campaign promotes safe behaviours and awareness within the home.
