The Town of Hampstead wishes to provide residents with an update regarding the ongoing rehabilitation work on Ellerdale.

Crews continue to actively replace the aging cast-iron services with new, modern, and durable infrastructure components. Surface milling operations have also been successfully completed.

This important phase of the project made it possible to assess the condition of the underlying roadway structure and revealed that certain sections of the concrete base slab require additional repairs in order to ensure a complete and durable reconstruction. These interventions will help reinforce the quality, stability, and long-term sustainability of the newly rebuilt infrastructure.

Next Phase

  • Repair of the roadway base slab;
  • Reconstruction of damaged catch basins.

Final Phase

  • Paving of the final surface layer;
  • Construction of speed bumps;
  • Landscaping work behind the sidewalks, including the installation of new sod and the restoration of residential walkways and access points.

Project Completion
The final stages of the project will include:

  • Roadway markings;
  • Worksite cleanup.

🚧 Reminder – Local Traffic Only
Ellerdale remains closed to through traffic, with access limited to local traffic only for the duration of the work. Motorists are asked to continue respecting all temporary signage and to exercise caution near the work zone.

The Town sincerely appreciates the collaboration, patience, and understanding shown by residents throughout these major infrastructure improvements aimed at modernizing municipal infrastructure and ensuring the long-term quality and safety of the road network.
