The Town of Hampstead wishes to inform residents that rehabilitation work on Avenue Fleet will begin on September 22, 2026, and is expected to be completed no later than October 30, 2026, subject to weather conditions and operational requirements.

These improvements are intended to enhance roadway conditions, increase comfort and safety for road users, and mitigate the impacts of traffic on adjacent properties. The project will also help preserve the integrity and long-term durability of both municipal infrastructure and nearby residential properties along Avenue Fleet while reducing the effects associated with roadway deterioration.

To allow the work to be carried out safely, westbound traffic on Avenue Fleet between Pinedale and Queen-Mary will be closed. To maintain traffic circulation in the area, the two eastbound lanes will be temporarily reconfigured to accommodate one lane of traffic in each direction.

Certain adjacent intersections may also be affected as the work progresses.

Flaggers will be present to help ensure safety and efficient traffic flow throughout the work zone.

The Town recognizes that these temporary measures may cause inconvenience for residents, visitors, and motorists. Delays and detours may be necessary during certain phases of the project.

Residents are encouraged to:

  • Plan their trips in advance;
  • Allow additional travel time;
  • Use alternate routes whenever possible;
  • Follow all temporary signage and flagger instructions;
  • Exercise caution near the work zone.

The Town thanks residents for their patience, cooperation, and understanding throughout these important infrastructure improvements.
