The Town of Hampstead is proud to announce the arrest of a suspect by the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM), made possible through their outstanding work and close collaboration with our Public Security team. We commend their professionalism and unwavering commitment to the safety and well-being of our community.

The SPVM proceeded yesterday with the arrest of a 39-year-old man in connection with the arson incidents that occurred in front of a Hampstead municipal building on August 22 and 25.

A search of a residence in the borough of Villeray–Saint-Michel–Parc-Extension also allowed investigators from the SPVM’s Arson and Explosives Section to seize various pieces of evidence.

The suspect is scheduled to appear in custody at the Montréal Courthouse later today.
