The Town of Hampstead wishes to inform residents that a non-compliant result was identified during the latest drinking water testing process.

As a precautionary measure, a new and more extensive series of tests is currently underway on the water distribution system to determine whether the result was isolated or not. Until results are confirmed, a preventive boil water advisory remains in effect.

Residents must use tap water that has been boiled vigorously for at least one minute, or bottled water, for the following purposes:

  • Drinking and preparing beverages;
  • Preparing baby bottles and infant food;
  • Washing and preparing raw foods;
  • Preparing foods that do not require prolonged cooking;
  • Making ice cubes;
  • Brushing teeth and rinsing the mouth;
  • Giving water to pets.

Municipal teams remain mobilized and updates will be shared as soon as additional information becomes available. Bottled water is available at the Municipal Garage, located at 10, Rue Cleve.
